Does cleaning cards improve the PSA grade?

Accepted Answer

Cleaning removes visible contaminants like fingerprints, smudges and oily residues that PSA evaluates in the Surface section. We do not guarantee specific grades — results depend solely on PSA examiner evaluation.

How long before grading should I prepare cards?

Accepted Answer

At least 24-48 hours before shipping. Each treatment requires complete drying before sleeving — minimum 1-2 hours per step. Never insert still-damp cards into Card Savers.

Question 3

Can polish be used on cards being sent to PSA?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with restraint. Polish must be applied in micro quantities. Excessive treatment can get cards classified as 'Evidence of Cleaning' (N7) by PSA — correct application is critical.

Does the protocol work for BGS grading too?

Accepted Answer

Yes. BGS criteria are analogous to PSA — centering, surface, edges, corners — with separate evaluation per criterion. The preparation protocol is identical.
